The Junior Photojournalist
Program
Alberta Land & Life welcomes editorial
submissions accompanied by suitable photographs on favorite
parks, places or protected areas, from elementary, junior high
school and high school students attending classes in Alberta.
All submissions must be based on subject areas that are located
geographically within the province of Alberta, and must include
both editorial and photographs. Students may make shared, joint
submissions.
Accepted submissions will be published
as a Department within each issue, receive a cash remuneration
of $250 and additional recognition as a contributor within the
"Contributors This Issue" section near the front of the magazine.
This is an invaluable opportunity for experience and recognition.
Four Seasons Publishing and Communications
Inc. and Alberta Land & Life will reserve the right to edit
stories as required, choose photos and maintain editorial standards.
Departments are usually considered to be two to four pages in
length. Each submission should be from 300-500 words and accompanied
by 8-10 photos. These photos may be film or digital. Hand-printed
stories are acceptable for elementary students.
A four-person panel will do judging
for each issue; members of this panel will be posted on-line
in the near future. Selected submissions will be required to
sign a necessary release and contract with parental approval
before we go to press. All persons portrayed in photographic
submissions will be required to sign a Consent Form for Photography
provided by Alberta Land & Life.
Please mail submissions to The
